WEKO, Rota Spray to present eco-efficient systems at ITMA ASIA + CITME
German technology expert WEKO will take part in ITMA ASIA + CITME, Singapore 2025, showcasing its state-of-the-art contactless fluid and powder coating systems. The event, set for October 28–31, 2025, at Singapore Expo, serves as the region’s leading venue for sourcing textile and garment machinery across 19 product categories.
Through its innovative methodology, WEKO facilitates minimal application of fluids and powders across a diverse range of materials, thereby decreasing the consumption of fresh water, chemicals, and energy. This approach not only provides substantial cost savings for manufacturers but also supports environmentally friendly, resource-efficient production.
WEKO and Rota Spray, prominent manufacturers of rotor spray minimal application systems for textile dyeing, finishing, coating, and moisture management, will be exhibiting at ITMA in Singapore.
The global textile industry is actively seeking ways to reduce water, energy, and chemical usage, as the pressure of rising costs continues to escalate.
Consequently, WEKO and Rota Spray have examined current practices in dyeing and finishing mills to identify opportunities for enhancing sustainability, productivity, and profitability.
Water and carbon reduced continuous finishing & dyeing concepts
Traditional continuous finishing and dyeing methods consume excessive energy and chemicals, placing a significant burden on effluent treatment facilities.
In the dyeing industry, many processes remain discontinuous. Achieving cost-effective and waste-efficient production of small lots in continuous dyeing is nearly unfeasible and nonprofitable, despite market demands for such capabilities.
This gap can be bridged by adapting the minimal rotor spray application method developed by WEKO and Rota Spray.
This technology offers numerous advantages:
- Minimal pick-up
- No tailing
- Consistent, stable, and precise production
- Low drainage
- Significant reduction in energy, chemicals, and water consumption
- Elimination of Center-Side Variation
- No issues with hydrolysis, substantivity, or incompatibility
- Finishing and dyeing on one or both sides
The innovative rotor spray technology can be applied to most existing finishing applications. In dyeing, it is suitable for Reactive, Sulphur, Pigment, VAT, and Disperse processes at the fabric or DENIM yarn stage. A key aspect, alongside the specialized spray technology, is the introduction of new processing methods created by WEKO and Rota Spray. For instance, the PS²-Process replaces the traditional PDPS process, and PSB35 serves as an alternative to CPB, among others.
By demonstrating its sustainable dyeing, finishing and coating technologies for textiles and nonwovens, WEKO seeks to facilitate the industry’s transition towards circularity and more environmentally friendly manufacturing practices. The company’s involvement highlights the theme of sourcing integrated green technologies throughout the textile value chain at ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025.
The event is expected to host over 800 exhibitors from 30 countries/regions, covering 70,000 square meters of exhibition space and drawing approximately 30,000 visitors.
WEKO and Rota Spray will showcase their cutting-edge fluid and powder coating systems at ITMA ASIA + CITME, Singapore 2025, from October 28-31.
Focusing on contactless, minimal application techniques for textiles, nonwovens, plastic films, paper, printing, wood, and tissues, WEKO assists manufacturers in conserving fresh water, chemicals, and energy, providing cost advantage.
